Field Trip Programs (Available During the School Year)

MOSI offers educators content-driven field trips that are fun, interactive learning opportunities for students in STEAM education. Let MOSI be an extension of your classroom to help you meet your standards in a hands-on, inquiry, engaging way! Add a program to your field trip to enrich your students’ learning experiences.

Base admission to the museum for groups is $4 per person. Groups of 16 or more will receive 1 free adult admission for every 10 students.

MOSI's Jr. Investigative Health Experience

Expose students to important health topics concerning cardiovascular health, and dissect a sheep’s pluck, which is the trachea, lungs and heart of the animal. Students will be able to observe not only the above-mentioned organs but also
the tissues, valves and muscles that make the organ function correctly. Students will also relate certain methods of dissecting this specimen to a prerecorded segment of an actual open-heart surgery that will be shown during the class. At the end of the program, students may ask questions about the latest information regarding heart and lung health.

Flash! Clap! Bang! Thunderstorms are an everyday occurrence in Florida but do you wonder how they form? In this interactive stage show, students will investigate how the basic ingredients of weather affect air pressure, precipitation, and convection currents to understand daily weather
patterns as well as natural disasters.

Telescope-To-Go (Kindergarten and up)*

Need to inject some STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) in your event? Just add MOSI! We offer interactive stations and larger than life demos for your event. Activities are fun and engaging for all ages!

• $325 per activity for up to 2 hours. Add extra hours for $50/activity
• Site must provide an appropriate and safe space to use for the duration of the activities
• A $50 deposit or letter of intent is required for reservation

Interactive Stations

Short interactions for small groups! Each hands-on 5-10 minute activity can engage up to 10 people at a time, up to 120 people per hour.

Rocket Launch

Design, personalize, and launch your rocket at the target! Take-away rocket included. This program needs a large space to launch rockets.

It’s Electric

“Spark” your curiosity about electricity by touching our hair-raising Van de Graaff generator! Investigate conductors and insulators at this hands-on station. This program needs access to electricity.

Robot Challenge

Program a robot and complete the challenge of the day! Will your robot dance, race, score, or drive?

Telescope-To-Go

Set up a skywatch at your site! Your guests will observe the nighttime sky, including stars, planets, nebulae, and the Moon. This program must be scheduled at least 15 minutes after sunset and is weather dependent.

Mini-Demos

Don’t try this at home! Our MOSI scientists will amaze and engage with larger than life demonstrations. Each show is 20 minutes and can engage up to 100 people at a time, 200 people per hour.

Rocket Science!

MOSI rocket scientists will fuel up and launch explosive rockets right at your event!

Cryo-Cool

MOSI cryo-scientists will freeze, boil, condense, shrink, and crush objects before your very eyes! Using liquid nitrogen is the super-cool way to learn about the states of matter.

Discover the highs and lows of air pressure and how it affects our weather.

Explore the rainbow of chemical reactions. Discover what gets hot or cold and what changes colors!
