Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry – we call it MOSI for short – is a scientific playground with more than 100 hands-on activities!
Guests can lie on a bed of nails, build a robot, explore optical illusions, challenge themselves with hands-on brain puzzles, explore another world in our NASA-funded Mission: Moonbase lunar colony, touch the future in Connectus and learn about planets and our solar system in the Saunders Planetarium.
MOSI's innovative exhibits urge you to ask questions and expand your mind. We show you how cool curiosity can be and spark conversations about the world and the future among kids and their grandparents, between spouses, and with strangers. There’s no other place like it in Tampa Bay!
MOSI is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Admission for the day can be purchased at the Admissions Desk upon your arrival.
General Admission to MOSI's permanent exhibits is:
$12.95 per adult (13 - 59)

Come face-to-face with the future, using new technologies and ideas not yet available to the public. This major new exhibit will bring you face-to-face with the future. Constantly updated and unlike any other science center exhibit in America, in Connectus you'll get hands-on with tomorrow and discover how innovators put STEAM skills to use in real life. As you enter Connectus, you will experience a tunnel full of floating questions about our world and our future, and then emerge into an open space with interactive display platforms. Each display will showcase a different innovative development happening right now in the Tampa Bay region, Florida, or the U.S. that is on the verge of transforming our lives. It’s an experience you can only see – and touch – at MOSI. Share your ideas and questions with the partners, so feedback from MOSI’s guests exploring Connectus will help drive development of these new technologies and provide new, fresh ideas for future innovation.
How do scientific ideas apply to improving our everyday lives? How will the interconnectivity of our ideas, our data, and new technologies shape our future? How does a brilliant idea get researched, developed, improved, and then shared with the world? You will discover the answers in Connectus.
With a total length of around 90 feet (27 meters), the diplodocus is the star of MOSI’s Dinovations Lab, a Jurassic-themed exhibit that invites guests to explore the world of paleontology, the science of prehistoric life, in a base camp setting. Besides featuring one of the largest dinosaurs of all time, MOSI’s Dinovations Lab will tap into the excitement of dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages with PaleoLab investigations, crawl-through challenges, dino-themed animation in Fossil Films, and an opportunity to touch actual dino poop. Dinovations Lab will inspire a love for the mystery and wonderment for an incredible time on our planet when dinosaurs ruled and mammals drooled!
Step through an airlock and get immersed in NASA’s true vision for living on worlds beyond Earth.
Learn how to cultivate your own food and water supplies in a lunar colony.
Explore the Moon's surface and collect samples to analyze.
With a new theme every month, there's always a project to build in MOSI’s makerspace and fab lab! From high heels to a new hand, get up-close with examples of how 3D printing is changing our world.
Create something amazing in MOSI’s makerspace and fab lab! From building robots to ordering electricity to obey your commands, our team of inventors and tinkerers have hands-on projects waiting for you every day. Idea Zone® is home to different themes and projects each month, so there's always something new to see and do at MOSI!
We invite all of our guests to spend some meaningful time together building something new. Drop in during your visit to MOSI and take on exciting projects in Idea Zone® that are included with your MOSI admission!
