During the three days of The Festival of Chocolate, January 18 – 20, 2014, the entire museum is transformed into a chocolate educational experience and access to most museum areas will be limited. In order to better serve our members during The Festival of Chocolate, the museum will only be accessible to those wishing to attend The Festival of Chocolate. The Festival of Chocolate is a special admission event and proceeds help fund MOSI’s educational programming. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Members pay only $10 for The Festival of Chocolate, and member children 12 and under are FREE! That’s a savings of over $77 for a family of five!

MOSI will host the fourth annual Festival of Chocolate, Florida’s largest all-chocolate themed event as seen in Southern Living Magazine and on ABC's The Chew, Jan. 18 – 20, 2014.  Sponsored in part by Bank of Tampa, The Festival of Chocolate will feature amazing chocolate indulgences, the Cocoa Couture Fashion Show,  a live cake decorating competition, and The Great American Candy Run, a race of epically sweet and sticky proportions.

The event features the area's best chocolate and confection companies selling tastes and treats of everything chocolate from truffles, cakes and cupcakes to cookies, brownies and ice creams.  Chocolate savory items, including chocolate BBQ sauce and meat rubs, will return for those looking for an alternative to the super sweet.

Award-winning pastry chefs and chocolatiers will host interactive demonstrations, sharing techniques and tricks of the trade, and the Cocoa Couture Fashion Show returns on Saturday, Jan. 18, featuring chocolate-wrapper fashion for the couture crowd. On Sunday, Jan. 19, a live cake decorating competition will give breathtaking artistic creations a tasty twist.  Chocoholics of all ages will love making chocolate lip balm, chocolate roses, and sandy candy, and the more adventurous can try their hand at creating armpit fudge – all in the name of chocolate.

This year, The Festival of Chocolate will also feature The Great American Candy Run.  Kids of all ages can climb through a giant cookie pit, hurdle through a peppermint patch or dive through dizzy donuts. Participants will run, walk, jump, dig, stack, crawl and launch their way through a confection adventure. The Great American Candy Run is an un-timed event for all fitness levels, ages and backgrounds, but children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult . The Run will take place on Monday, Jan. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. with heats throughout the day. Pre-registration is requested. Click here to register.

Entrance into The Festival of Chocolate is included with the purchase of MOSI admission (Adults: $21.95; Children: $17.95). Each adult ticket purchased in advance will receive two dollars in chocolate coins to spend at The Festival of Chocolate.  MOSI Members receive discounted pricing to The Festival of Chocolate at only $10 per ticket for adults, and member children 12 and under can attend for FREE.  Members can buy tickets in advance by calling 813-987-6000 or you can click here to buy online. Non-member advanced tickets are available at tampa.festivalofchocolate.com. Registration for The Great American Candy Run is open through Jan. 17, 2014.  To join The Great American Candy Run, guests must have a valid ticket to MOSI for The Festival of Chocolate on Monday, Jan. 20. Entry into The Great American Candy Run is $8 per person or $30 per group/family of five. On-site registration will be available from Jan. 18 - 20, for $10 per person.  Click here to register for The Great American Candy run.
