VOLUNTEER INFORMATION- OPPORTUNITIES

Guild Member – Make a REAL IMPACT by joining the MOSI Guild. Guild members will recruit, train and supervise our “ready and able” volunteer team. They will also work as docents, offering guided tours of our three galleries floors and the Kids in Charge gallery. Guild members must be 18 years of age or older and enjoy working with others, management experience a plus.

InterActor- (floor operations) - Facilitate the fun of our “hands On” attractions for museum guests. Volunteers are trained to interact with guests as they experience our, High-Wire Bike, Gulf Coast Hurricane Machine, Bio-Works Butterfly garden and MORE! Morning and afternoon shifts, Weekdays 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, weekends 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

InterActor- (Kids In Charge) - Assist MOSI’s littlest guest make big discoveries in this hands-on area especially designed for children ages 0 – 5 years old. Weekdays 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, weekends 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Bio-Works Butterfly Assistant - Share information about this living exhibit with visitors and assist with plant and butterfly care. This is a terrific learning opportunity. Weekdays 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Group Greeter - Welcome school groups arriving for fields trips, inform them of their program schedule, “MOSI manners“ and other pertinent information about their day at MOSI. Weekdays 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Summer Science Camp (teacher assistant) - Work with campers for morning shifts or afternoon shifts for 4 weeks, or two weeks of full time shifts (8:30 to 5:00 pm). The minimum commitment is 2 full day weeks or 4 half day weeks.

Sky Watch Assistant - work with our education team to assist with our Sky Watch Telescope events (monthly). Volunteers will help place telescopes and answer guest questions.

Intern - Gain valuable “on the job” training as a MOSI intern. Positions are available in Graphics, Marketing and more.

Retail Assistant - Demonstrate unique toys and science related items. Assist with selling, stocking and organizing merchandise. Work in the science store or other retail outlets at MOSI. All operating hours.

Café clerk - Assist with feeding our hungry guests in the Red Baron Café. Every day 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Clerical Assistant - Assist MOSI staff with administrative work. Offer typing, filing, telephone skills and data entry assistance in marketing, membership, education, business or administration offices. Weekdays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Exhibits Shop Assistant - Assist with the fabrication of new exhibits and the remodeling and maintenance of current exhibits. Offer expertise in carpentry, painting, finish work, electronics, or daily exhibits maintenance. Must be 18 years of age or older experience a big PLUS. Weekdays between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
