opportunities for students. Educational programs, IMAX films, and interactive
exhibits are just some of the ways MOSI engages interest, curiosity and a sense of
fun in students. Let MOSI be an extension of your classroom in meeting Common
Core and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in STEAM.

Coding Lab

Capacity 30 | Ÿ 45 minutes
Anybody can code! Ignite your PC passion by encoding and decoding pixel art using algorithms.
Work with drag-and-drop coding tools like MIT’s Scratch to jump start the fun. Students will
create interactive stories and control characters to travel around the computer screen, all

Kinetic Art

Capacity 30 | Ÿ 45 minutes
Experience the action of poetry in motion as students master the mechanics of movement by
building a Rube Goldberg-style machine. Teams work together to build a complex machine
using pulleys, cranks, gears, marbles, and other engineering contraptions. Combining
fundamental forces with creative invention, students will experience the pride of building a wild

Robot Engineers

Physics and Technology

Take on the role of a NASA engineer to build and design a Mars rover. Use imagination and
problem-solving skills to guide robots across various terrains to collect samples. Discover

Scene of the Crime

A crime was committed, and there’s a mystery to solve! You and your team of detectives must
analyze fingerprints, hair, and other mysterious pieces of evidence in the lab to crack the case.

Totally Ooey Gooey Science

Capacity 30 | Ÿ 45 minutes
Take ordinary things and make slime that will ooze through your fingers. Experiment with
physical and chemical properties of matter to create colorful acid/base reactions, or reactions

Rapid Prototyping

Idea Zone® Lab
Capacity 30 | Ÿ 45 minutes
Inspire your students in this exciting workshop that illustrates how design thinking is used to
create new products. Students are challenged to work together in small teams to build and test
working, one-of-a-kind video game controllers using prototyping materials in imaginative ways.
Students will also experience the use of 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters to
transform ideas into inventions in the digital fabrication lab. Groups have exclusive use of Idea
Zone® during this opportunity to discover the prototyping process in action. Additional lab fee

Coleman Science Works Theater Program

Watch a MOSI scientist use the power of the elements to show off their latest and most
spectacular creaions. See the scientist shoot bolts of lightning, send giant fireballs into the air,
and freeze objectst instantly with incredible results. Watch them use their powers to launch items
and shrink objects to almost nothing. Reserve this engaging show and find out about the power

Mission: Moonbase

Virtual screens fill the windows and computers offer creative challenges as students are
immersed in life in a lunar colony. Your students will work together in hands-on zones as they

Breaking it Down

Have you ever wondered how the body receives energy from the food that you eat? Follow your
food’s fantastic voyage through the digestive process and discover just how important that
peanut butter and jelly sandwich really is! From the enzymes in saliva to the powerful acid found
in your stomach, learn how your body breaks down food and obtains nutrients through handson
experimentation and simulation. Young learners will have fun getting their hands dirty as

Cave Exploring

Immerse yourself in peculiar karst topography by journeying through mysterious underground
worlds where water has carved out surreal limestone caverns. Search for stalactites, stalagmites,
prehistoric invertebrate fossils, and living creatures while exploring cave chambers. Spelunk your

Star Lab

Can’t come out at night? Let MOSI bring the night sky to you! MOSI’s portable Star Lab
planetarium can re-create the nighttime sky complete with stars and galaxies. Discover the
science of the stars and the stories behind them. Learn how to interpret the night sky and what’s

Have an out-of-this-world field trip right at your school. Explore the wonders of the universe and
the nighttime sky through telescopes. Have record attendance at your next PTO or PTA event, or
school family night. Imagine a program that excites your parents as much as your students. MOSI
astronomers will deliver, set up, and operate telescopes for a special SkyWatch at YOUR location.


Stay up late on a school night and join in the adventure as MOSI comes alive with
hands-on learning, larger-than-life experiences in our Florida Hospital IMAX®
DOME Theatre, and a night to remember for your entire group. MOSI offers
overnight camp-ins year-round for groups in search of in-depth exploration and
learning. Sleep among your favorite exhibits and experience the thrill of taking
over MOSI at night!

Radical Reactions

We make chemistry fun at MOSI! Discover the elements of science in this ooey, gooey, slippery,
slimy overnight experience. Students will explore chemical reactions, create polymers, and see
an explosive show they will remember for a lifetime. Includes an Explosive Science

Mission: Moonbase

Travel to the Moon on a space transport and help operate a lunar colony in MOSI’s interactive,
immersive experience, Mission: Moonbase! Explore the stars, planets, and our Moon; design and
engineer robots that accomplish tasks; and train for the rigors of space travel in this out of this
world overnight experience! Includes telescope viewing (weather permitting) and a Stargazing
Show in The Saunders Planetarium. SC.N; SC.E; SC.P

STEAM Powered Inventions

Welcome to the future! What out-of-the-box innovations will your junior inventors create with
the right tools, today’s technology, and their endless imaginations? Students will explore
invention, innovation, and technology in groups and then present their creations to their peers.
Whether your students excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics, there is
something for everyone in this interdisciplinary, STEAM-based camp-in! SC.N
A camp-in is a 16 hour event and includes: 3-4 hours of hands-on workshops aligned to the
Sunshine State Standards, sleeping among MOSI exhibit galleries, Florida Hospital IMAX®
DOME Threatre film, light evening snack and breakfast in the morning, and admission to
MOSI on the morning your camp-in ends.
