THE SAUNDERS PLANETARIUM SHOWS

Weekends (Sat & Sun) - MOSI's Tonight Show!
ShowTime - 3:00
Meeting Location: 2nd Floor West Wing

Binoculars and telescopes allow stargazers to view much fainter objects in much greater detail that is possible with just an unaided eye. "More than Meets the Eye" compares naked-eye views of celestial objects with the views from binoculars, small/medium telescopes, large observatories, and, in some cases, space probes. At the end of each show, learn about what interesting events will appear in the nighttime sky in the near future -- constellation positions, planet locations, eclipse dates, and satellite/space station passes. As always, MOSI astronomers will always take time to answer any and all of your astronomy/space questions.

Weekdays (Mon - Friday), More Than Meets The Eye
Showtime - 3:00 p.m. (30 - 45 minutes)
Weekends (Sat - Sun), 4:15 p.m. (30 - 45 minutes)
Meeting Location: 2nd Floor West Wing

Join MOSI’s astronomy educators on a live, interactive, and exciting astronomical tour. Discover which planets, stars and constellations are visible in the current nighttime sky. Find out when the International Space Station, Space Shuttle, or Hubble Space Telescope will be passing over Tampa. Learn about current cutting edge discoveries being made by astronomers around the world. Finally, have an opportunity to get answers to all of your astronomical questions."

SkyWatch!
See the universe up-close and personal through MOSI's telescopes. See craters on the Moon. Watch as another planet's moons slowly perform a gravitational dance. See stellar nurseries where stars are being formed. See star clusters so far away that light - traveling at 186,000 miles per second - takes tens of thousands of years to make it to your eye. SkyWatch is free and open to the public.
