How will we share our stories in the future? Are we losing something in the delivery of our stories as we shed physical media? Or is digital media helping our stories change the world? Whatever the medium, people will always seek to share their stories with the world. Join us on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) to help us explore storytelling, past, present, and future through live presentations, TED videos, and deep discussions!

We’ll fill the day with around a dozen short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder -- and to provoke conversations that matter.

Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. TEDxTampaBay has been inspiring community thinkers and doers since 2010 and has grown steadily with the support of community sponsors. Join us for a day of wonder, filled with interactive dialogue around ideas big enough to change the world!

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTampaBay, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxTampaBay event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
