Prepare to be WOW-ed by MOSI's fee-based programs, offered at MOSI and offsite. MOSI Outreach Programs offer exploration of Florida's scenic rivers, caves and mines. All MOSI outreach programs are aligned with Sunshine State Standards and the National Academic Standards.

FIELD EXPEDITIONS

Fossil Finding
Scratch the earth's surface to find fossils. Find the fossils of prehistoric animals, fossil echinoids, ancient sea biscuits, sea urchins and other marine fossils. Learn how to prepare and clean fossils. Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy walking shoes for uneven surfaces, sunscreen and a hat. Bring plastic bags to contain fossil finds.

Cave Capers
Explore underground caverns and amazing sinkholes. Search for stalactites, stalagmites and other geological treasures in caves. Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy walking shoes for uneven surfaces, sunscreen and a hat.

DISCOVERY PROGRAMS

Astronaut Academy
Explore the world of space travel through the eyes of an astronaut. Learn the parts of a rocket before blasting rockets up into the air. Finish your journey with a taste of astronaut ice cream.

Giant Horns and Terrible Teeth
Jump into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs! Examine dinosaur teeth to see what they ate. Discover the many uses of dinosaur horns. Explore how paleontologists find fossils. Touch fossils and learn how they formed.

Metamorphosis
Explore the life cycle of a butterfly from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. Discover which plants butterflies and caterpillars are attracted to. Take home your own butterfly creation.

Marine Gang
Join Captain Noah and his friends -- Daisy Dolphin, Manny Manatee, Polly Pelican, Sally Shrimp, Sammy Snapper and Tony Turtle -- as they learn about the importance of keeping Tampa Bay estuaries clean and beautiful.

The Tonight Show
Can’t come out at night? That’s OK because we can bring the night sky to you! MOSI’s portable planetarium show is a fun and informative tour of the science behind the stars. Find out what you can see tonight!

Have an out-of-this-world experience! MOSI astronomers will deliver, set up, and operate telescopes for a SkyWatch at your location. Whatever the occasion, reach for the stars at your next special event!
