MOSI ANNOUNCES KIC ADVISORY
BOARD
TAMPA, Fla. (March 11, 2004) – MOSI, Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry, has selected 26 children from a field of 155 applicants for its new KIC Advisory Board. KIC stands for Kids In Charge, which is the name of MOSI’s proposed children’s science center, scheduled to open in 2005. The process used a blind scoring method in the areas of enthusiasm, communication, well-roundedness, and self-confidence to narrow the field to those who were interviewed.
The new board consists of:

The KIC Advisory Board is a
hands-on board responsible for providing guidance and planning for the new
40,000 square foot children’s science center. The board will be involved in such
things as conducting audience research on different exhibits; planning and
hosting special events; becoming ambassadors for KIC to present information to
the community; providing feedback and ideas on space, exhibit and architectural
design, programming, and fundraising.
MOSI is the largest science center in the southeastern United States and
home of the only IMAXÒ Dome Theatre in the state of
Florida. In all, MOSI offers more
than 450 “minds-on” interactive activities. MOSI is located at 4801 East Fowler
Avenue, Tampa, opens daily at 9 a.m., is wheelchair accessible, and offers free
