Scout Programs at MOSI

 

Enrich your scouting experience at MOSI through our exciting hands-on science and technology workshops and overnight fun during our camp-in events.

 Scout Workshops are a fun and exciting way to complement your badges and pins. Fees include an instructor-led workshop with all materials and MOSI admission for the entire group. Special discounts for group IMAX shows and lunches are available. Sign up for one of our scheduled programs or arrange for a private workshop or camp-in by calling 813-987-6000.

 

 

 

 

 

  

Girl Scout Programs

 

Girl Scout Skill Building Workshops:

Have fun working towards successful completion of Skill Building Activity Badges and Journeys at MOSI! These workshops allow Girl Scouts to complete a comprehensive assortment of hands-on experiences and experiments. Workshops complement the process of earning badges and provide the opportunity to explore MOSI’s exhibits before or after the workshop.

 

February 11:  Juniors           

Entertainment Technology – It’s Your World-Change It!

 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Program fee: $24 per scout; 1 adult free for every 5 scouts

Can’t make one of the scheduled dates? Interested in other Girl Scout workshops? Reserve your own private workshop with a minimum of 15 Scouts by calling 813-987-6000.

 

Registration Information:

Scout Group Registrants:  Call 1-800-995-6674 to make reservations. Scout groups must register with a minimum of 15 Scouts at least two weeks prior to the workshop. We encourage partnering with other groups to fill a workshop. A single payment for the group can be made by credit card at the time of registration or in person by check at MOSI. If you must cancel the reservation, you need to do so at least 10 business days prior to the workshop to receive a refund. A $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.

  

 

Girl Scout Events:

   

Girl Scout Fossil Finding Expedition

Saturday, February 11

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Dig for fossils with MOSI. Learn about animals from our past and find ancient sea biscuits, sea urchins and other marine fossils. An adult must accompany girls.

Program fee: $15 per person   

 

Girl Scout Camp-Ins:

Girl Scout Night of a Billion Stars Sky Search Camp-In

Saturday, February 18         

5 p.m. – 11 a.m.

Program fee: $35 per scout; 1 adult free per 10 scouts; $24 per additional adult

 

Experience your next camping trip in an whole new way at MOSI amidst engaging exhibits, a giant domed theatre and exciting science and technology experiences. Our workshops support girl scouts as they develop new skills while discovering the fun of a night at the museum.   

Camp-Ins include:

• Hands-on science and technology badge workshops
• Film in IMAX® Dome Theatre
• A pizza dinner and breakfast
• Admission to MOSI’s exhibit areas
• Knowledgeable Camp-In staff to help make the Camp-In a spectacular success

  

Private Scout Camp-Ins

Reserve a Private Scout Camp-In if you cannot make one of the scheduled dates or you are interested in a specific topic for your Scout group. The minimum required attendance for this type of Camp-In is 40 Scouts.

 

Registration Information:

Call 1-800-995-6674 to make reservations. Scout groups must register with a minimum of 40 Scouts at least one month prior to the Camp-In. We encourage partnering with other groups to fill a Camp-In. A single payment for the group can be made by credit card at the time of registration or in person by check at MOSI. If you must cancel the reservation, you need to do so at least 20 business days prior to the Camp-In to receive a refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.

Program fee: $18 per Merit Badge; $12 per scout; 1 adult free per 5 scouts

Private Scout Programs

Reserve a Private Scout Workshop or Private Scout Camp-In if you cannot make one of the scheduled dates or if you are interested in a specific topic and program for your Boy Scout group. The minimum required for a private workshop is 15 scouts. The minimum required for a private Camp-In is 40 scouts.
