Homeschool science classes for preschool age students and high school students and math homeschool programs for ages 7 and up.

Mini Science Adventure Days

Program Time: 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Mini Science Adventure Days, Tuesday (Ages 3-5)

Explore the world in the Mini Science Adventure Days program. Children will learn age appropriate science concepts in the fun hands-on environment of a MOSI classroom. Make predictions, test for your results, and share your finding with the whole class. Pour, mix, measure, make friends and smile.

Science Adventure Days and Jr. Science Adventure Days complement any home school curriculum as we learn to use science to discover the wonders of the world! Use tools that scientists use to peek at new and amazing scientific discoveries. Pull up your sleeves and dig into a fascinating world of science where students can thrive individually but also excel in team-oriented activities. 


 

MOSI Make It Count: Hands-on Math Programs

 

 Thursday from 10 a.m. – noon (Ages 7 and up) 
You'll be glad you added MOSI's hands-on fun to your math curriculum. Each month features an exciting variety of imaginative activities that will improve math skills, critical thinking, and appreciation of this powerful subject.

Learn about friction, torque, velocity and acceleration.  How do aerodynamics affect the way the car races?

What goes in does not come out.  Explore number and shape patterns in math and art.

How do you weigh an elephant?  Use scales and other tools to see how to find the weight and volume of objects in your everyday life.

MOSI Technology & Engineering Days

Technology & Engineering Days are a hands-on way to prepare for the future using technology to design, invent, and build in creative and imaginative ways. 


Homeschool Technology Programs

These four-week homeschool technology programs offer your homeschool students an engaging way to embrace technology through coding, design and gaming.

 

 

 Video Game Makers

 

Program Time: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Tuesdays (Ages 9 and up)

 

Session 1: February 3, 10, 17, and 24;

Session 2: March 3, 17, 24 and 31 

Session 3: April 7, 14, 21, and 28 
Expand your interest in video games from playing to creating your own! Learn the skills to create a video game from idea to playable completion. Experience all phases of game development including level design, coding and graphics while creating an engaging video game. Work with a variety of game development tools including Scratch, GameMaker, and more with the help of talented instructors. Make friends and enhance your technology skills in this exciting program. Beginners are welcome to take part in the fun!

 

 

Kodu video Game Designers

 

Program Time: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 
Saturdays (Ages 9 and up)

 

Session 1: March 7, 14, 21 and 28
Session 2: April 11, 18, 25 and May 2
Session 3: May 9, 16, 23, and 30
Design and develop your very own video game with Kodu, a powerful, game-creation toolkit and programming language. With Kodu, we will use our imaginations to create an exciting game to enter in the Kodu Challenge competition with contestants around the world. In this program that’s great for beginning game designers, we’ll tell stories and entertain others with the graphics, sounds, and excitement of the games we create. Discover your talents by taking part of this phenomenal opportunity to explore science and technology through game design.

 

Middle School STEAM Lab Series

Mondays from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Ages 10-13)
Discover the wonders of science through laboratory experiments. Make discoveries through teamwork and critical thinking. The program is designed to promote an understanding of each subject through discussion, projects, and laboratory experiences. The science investigation includes the integration of other subjects while developing reading and math skills.

 

High School STEAM Lab Series

Mondays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Ages 13 and up)
Enhance your high school science education with an in-depth laboratory program that emphasizes hands-on experimental coursework. In addition to engaging lab work, students will benefit from lectures, project development and home study in a supportive, yet challenging academic environment. Participate in the full year of programs to meet your science credit.
