Guest Experience Team - Box Office
Full-Time Position with Benefits
This position is responsible for the smooth daily operation of the Box Office and Membership Desk,
including running reports, balancing, supervising staff, providing exceptional guest service,
implementing sales initiatives, and for overseeing Box Office and Membership ticketing
operations and cash management practices.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Box Office and Membership Desk.
Generates daily audit reports, attendance reports, and membership reports; balances final daily deposit.
Resolves overages/shortages between Business & Finance staff, and Box Office and Membership staff.
Directly supervises and manages Box Office and Membership staff, including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, evaluating and scheduling.
Supervises and coaches Box Office and Membership staff; assists with transactions, authorizes exchanges and refunds/rain checks.
Provides continuous daily support to Box Office and Membership staff in the area of guest complaint resolution, making decisions on exceptions to standard practices as needed.
Trains new and existing staff on Vista programs and procedures.
Performs ticketing transactions, including sales of special event tickets, class reservations, and memberships.
Assists Membership Manager in ensuring the timely completion of membership data entry.
Support the Director of Admissions & Member Services with mailings, spreadsheets, reports, proposals, meetings and various functions as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required, AA or Bachelor's Degree preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of computerized ticketing software preferred

MANAGER OF GROUP & OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Learning Experience Team
This position is responsible for designing and implementing programs for groups and outreach, at MOSI and offsite. These programs include, but are not limited to, science bus, school assemblies, festivals, special events, camp-ins, scout workshops, adult and youth travel and corporate training programs.
Plan, implement, present, and evaluate programs, at MOSI or offsite; develop and coordinate use of resources used in program delivery.
Conceptualize and initiate new programs or activities that respond to audience demand and organizational need.
Builds and maintains working relationships with staff at other organizations.
Use appropriate technology to advance and support educational activities.
Monitor budget expenditures and work with supervisor to contain costs.
Assist in creating publications and in the promotion of program offerings.
Track program attendance and contribute to monthly report on area activities.
Contribute to grant writing done by Education and Development staff; contribute to grant reports, as required.
In collaboration with the Vice President and Directors of Education, initiate new program ideas, partnerships and revenue sources.
Implement programs in own section and in other department sections, as appropriate, both at MOSI and offsite.
Work with other MOSI staff and external stakeholders, as relevant to program content.
Serve on committees internal and external to MOSI, as appropriate (e.g., exhibit planning).
Recruit, interview, hire and supervise part time / seasonal staff and volunteers.

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of all museum digital marketing and social media strategies, and for growing the museums digital and social media subscriber base and increasing brand awareness through varied digital/social channels.
Maintenance and development of the MOSI website including writing and editing content, developing new digital content to promote MOSI events, exhibits, films, programs, fundraising initiatives, and e-commerce products
Develop, implement, and monitor all MOSI digital communications and social media strategies in a creative and engaging way including, but not limited to, contests, email marketing, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, MOSI blog, CRM, boosted/sponsored posts, etc…
Develop content for posting on all designated social media outlets, monitoring online competitor presences/perceptions, researching new blogs and channels for relevance/trend identification, and maintaining posting schedules for all social media outlets
Create, film and edit YouTube videos in Adobe Premiere Pro
Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, email direct marketing, social networking, promotions & special events – recommending improvement strategies where needed
Assist in the development & implementation of the annual marketing plan with a focus on the development of dedicated online marketing strategies
Monitor website & social media analytics and make recommendations to ensure continual improvement of digital marketing campaigns
Act as a liaison between all MOSI departments to ensure all MOSI assets are appropriately and consistently represented on the MOSI website and through social media strategies.
Protect and adhere to brand voice and integrity in all published content.
Act as support for art department and creative director. Duties to include minor design revisions on marketing materials (print and digital).
Gather feedback from MOSI staff on website development needs; author MOSI Web pages
Write and edit editorial content for website and online publications
Manage MOSI internet links to pertinent sites
Utilize HTML and graphic art production software to maximize website content
Edit copy and refresh content to keep current images relevant
Utilize social networking sites to promote MOSI to virtual audiences

Two or more years professional or intern experience in social media, digital marketing or communications related position; strong design background preferred
Strong written communication skills are required, with an emphasis on grammar/spelling excellence.

This is an entry level, low to semi-skilled position responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks as assigned. Primary responsibilities include changing HVAC system filters, light bulb replacement, stock and inventory control for facility maintenance materials and supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment rooms.
Contribute to and assist in the efficient day-to-day operations and physical appearance of entire campus.
Monitor all lighting fixtures throughout the facility, replacing lamps when necessary.
Replace HVAC air filters on a regular maintenance schedule.
Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, materials, and supplies, including organizing, stocking, etc.

Training and experience with ropes/challenge course programs preferred but not required for the right candidate.

PERFORMERS / SCIENCE ENTHUSIASTS / ENTERTAINERS / EDUCATORS
We are seeking experienced, fun, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to provide interactive engaging experiences to all museum visitors as part of our team of Entertainment Educators known as the STEAMpunks (Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math). STEAMpunks work throughout the year in varying capacities, on average eight to twenty-eight hours per week (part-time), as well as with our various traveling exhibits when applicable.
During the interview process, candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to convey a science concept in a fun, engaging, and entertaining way. Our STEAMpunks are the key to making science come to life for visiting school groups, general public and MOSI members through characterizations, interactions, shows, demonstrations, classes, and informal gallery conversations. STEAMpunks may also assist with show development and research, and on occasion be expected to perform off-site as needed.

Part-Time, Year-round Position
Responsible for driving a bus and monitoring of Guests/Program Participants on board.
Inspects bus thoroughly before starting the run to detect any mechanical or other malfunction, which would prevent the safe delivery of Guests and/or Program Participants.
Follows exact schedule making stops and pick up of Guests/Program Participants at locations based on schedule provided.
Observes all state, city and local laws and regulations.
Supervise the seating of Guests/Program Participants to equalize weight distribution.
Assists chaperones in resolving disciplinary problems and prepares proper reports for the Vice President of Education on more difficult problems.
Instructs Guests/Program Participants on the proper methods to board and depart from the bus and sees that these instructions are carefully observed.
Possesses thorough knowledge of bus operation; safety and safety equipment, and first aid procedures.
Ability to communicate in a positive manner with Guests/Program Participants.
Candidates must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED preferred; completion of the tenth school grade required
Two years of successful bus driving experience required
Possession of a valid Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger Endorsement required (S)
Applicants should be familiar with the main roadways in the county.
Applicants who have been found guilty of a DUI or who have tested positive for a controlled substance will be disqualified
