Guest Experience Team / Reservations Department

The Marketing & Promotions Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of MOSI’s marketing and promotional campaigns designed to increase brand awareness, revenue, and gate attendance. Major responsibilities include the overseeing the day-to-day activities of the marketing department, strategic development and implementation of media, retail and sales promotional campaigns, securing promotional partnerships with local and national companies, and managing and supporting the Communications Specialist and Social Media Strategist in creating, planning and executing marketing efforts to support MOSI revenue initiatives. 


·         Develop strategic media, retail and sales promotional campaigns related to MOSI programs, traveling exhibitions, IMAX Dome Theatre and other revenue programs.

·         Development and implementation of strategic promotions to reach non-traditional MOSI audiences.

·         Securing promotional partnerships with local media to leverage marketing budget and increase exposure for fundraisers and other MOSI events.

·         Create and implement strategic discount programs to drive maximum attendance year-round.

·         Securing promotional partnerships with local and national companies to leverage marketing budget and increase exposure.

·         Direct and support communications specialist in creating, planning and coordinating promotional events to support MOSI revenue initiatives.

Campus Experience Team / Human Resources

Full-Time Position with Benefits

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. The position is responsible for coordinating recruitment efforts and processing job postings, maintaining computerized and manual personnel records, onboarding new employees, and providing administrative support to HR Department functions as needed.   


  • Creates recruitment plans for open positions, identifying effective sources. Efficiently and effectively assists in filling open positions.

·         Screens applications and routes to hiring managers for review.  Assists managers/supervisors with processing reference checks when needed.

  • Implements the new hire onboarding program emphasizing the critical importance and value of welcoming and integrating new employees into the MOSI culture.

·         Maintains personnel files, both computerized and manual, ensuring that records are updated.

·         Prepares periodic and special reports including payroll reports, new employee hiring reports and monthly employee statistics.

  • Answers routine questions from employees and applicants about employment procedures and policies, benefits, and other HR-related topics.

Guest Experience Team

Full-Time Position with Benefits

This position leads and participates in all aspects of the exhibit program including budgeting, planning, design, fabrication, and installation of new, permanent and traveling exhibitions. This position is responsible for delivering and maintaining exhibit projects that are consistent with the Museum's mission and its educational, financial, sustainability and accessibility goals.


·         Responsible for long-range planning and defining goals and objectives for the exhibits program.

·         Directs and works on the research and development of exhibit content including literature reviews and liaisons with community partners, potential donors, science advisors and content experts from academia and specialist fields.

·         Directs the development of prototypes and the evaluation of functionality of prototypes.

·         Directs and works on the traveling and visiting exhibits programs.

·         Works with exhibit designer to produce renderings and drawings (presentation, design, and construction).

Full-Time Position with Benefits

This position is responsible for coordinating the various business, marketing and sales activities in the IMAXâ Dome Theatre and 3-D Theatre, to ensure the proper delivery of programming and financial goals.


·         Lead programming and operations of the Florida Hospital IMAX Dome Theatre and Coleman Science Works 3-D Theatre, including guest services, film selection, branding, sales analysis, projections and reporting, pricing of films, audience analysis and identification, and analysis of departmental revenue and expenses.

·         Responsible for managing theater staff, and assuring quality and efficient visitor experiences.

·         Drive film selection process; develops and implements user and nonuser surveys, focus groups, and test screenings, etc., to measure audience interest.

Part-time Position

This part-time position is responsible for coordination and logistics of MOSI overnight camp-ins.  Camp-in Coordinator will spend the night at MOSI with camp-in participants and therefore shifts will be 10 -18 hours long, including time for sleep. 


·         Serve as the key point of contact for camp-in participants by answering questions, resolving issues, and acting responsibly during emergency situations.

·         Be responsible for the safety and well-being of participants.

·         Set the tone and excitement level to optimize a positive experience for all participants. 

·         Greet participants, take attendance, and positively engage participants.

·         Be knowledgeable about MOSI policies, procedures, exhibit spaces, and classroom spaces.  

·         Be knowledgeable about MOSI safety and emergency procedures. 

·         Assist and/or deliver hands-on, inquiry based programs that incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art+Design, and Math) content, critical thinking, problem solving, and scientific methodology.

This position is responsible for program delivery with STEAM content through a hands-on approach.  Programs will primarily be delivered off-site in schools, outdoor venues, or the MOSI in Motion Mobile Lab. 


·         Deliver hands-on, inquiry based programs that incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art+Design, and Math) content, critical thinking, problem solving, and scientific methodology.

·      Set the tone and excitement level to optimize a positive experience for all participants.

·      Greet program participants, teachers and students, take attendance, and be responsible for students.

·      Present planned activities pertaining to assigned classes.

·         Develop new programs and activities as assigned.

·         Perform administrative duties such as filing, copying, recording/analyzing data, and organizing. 

·         Purchase supplies and take inventory as assigned. 

·         Drive outreach school bus to program locations.

Campus Experience Team

Part-time Position

This is an entry level, low to semi-skilled position responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks as assigned.  Primary responsibilities include changing HVAC system filters, light bulb replacement, stock and inventory control for facility maintenance materials and supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment rooms. 


·         Contribute to and assist in the efficient day-to-day operations and physical appearance of entire campus.

·         Monitor all lighting fixtures throughout the facility, replacing lamps when necessary.

·         Replace HVAC air filters on a regular maintenance schedule.

·         Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, materials, and supplies, including organizing, stocking, etc.

·         Keep equipment rooms clean and organized.

Part-Time Positions

We are seeking experienced, fun, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to provide interactive engaging experiences to all museum visitors as part of our team of Entertainment Educators known as the STEAMpunks (Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math). STEAMpunks work throughout the year in varying capacities, on average eight to twenty-eight hours per week (part-time), as well as with our various traveling exhibits when applicable.


During the interview process, candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to convey a science concept in a fun, engaging, and entertaining way.  Our STEAMpunks are the key to making science come to life for visiting school groups, general public and MOSI members through characterizations, interactions, shows, demonstrations, classes, and informal gallery conversations.  STEAMpunks may also assist with show development and research, and on occasion be expected to perform off-site as needed.

Inspire kids and teens to innovators through technology and engineering.

Apply your technical skills and ability to create a fun and exciting learning environment where children and teens can become active creators of technology-based projects. Designing Web pages, animating in 3D, programming computer games, or building robots are just a few of the activities led by our technology instructors.


·         Prepare and implement innovative, project-oriented, hands-on classes and camps.

·         Set the tone and excitement level to optimize a positive summer camp experience for all participants.

·         Greet parents and students, take attendance, and be responsible for students.

·         Present planned activities pertaining to assigned classes in electronic form.


·         Proficient in creating animation, robotics, video production, music production or computer projects like computer games.

Education Department

Part-Time Position


·         Responsible for driving a bus and monitoring of Guests/Program Participants on board. 

·         Inspects bus thoroughly before starting the run to detect any mechanical or other malfunction, which would prevent the safe delivery of Guests and/or Program Participants.  

·         Follows exact schedule making stops and pick up of Guests/Program Participants at locations based on schedule provided.  

·         Observes all state, city and local laws and regulations.  

·         Supervise the seating of Guests/Program Participants to equalize weight distribution. 

·         Assists chaperones in resolving disciplinary problems and prepares proper reports for the Vice President of Education on more difficult problems. 

·         Instructs Guests/Program Participants on the proper methods to board and depart from the bus and sees that these instructions are carefully observed. 

·         Possesses thorough knowledge of bus operation; safety and safety equipment, and first aid procedures. 

·         Ability to communicate in a positive manner with Guests/Program Participants.


·         Candidates must be 21 years of age or older 

·         High School Diploma or GED preferred; completion of the tenth school grade required 

·         Two years of successful bus driving experience required 

·         Possession of a valid Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger Endorsement required (S)
