Mission: MOSI is a non-profit, community-based institution and educational resource that is dedicated to advancing public interest. knowledge and understanding of science, industry and technology. MOSI’s core ideology is to make a difference in people's lives by making science real for people of all ages and backgrounds. 



Are you interested in making a lasting impact with individuals and your community? Do you need volunteer service hours? From working the front line of the museum to helping behind the scenes, you will find inspiring experiences and discover how you and MOSI make Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) real for people of all ages.

MOSI is proud to be the 2016 host of the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Conference Sept. 23rd-27th at The Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa.


ASTC is a global organization providing collective voice, professional support, and programming opportunities for science centers, museums, and related institutions, whose innovative approaches to science learning inspire people of all ages about the wonders and meaning of science in their lives.


Year-Round/Daily Operations Volunteer:

Year-Round/Daily Operations Volunteers are individuals that desire to work with people by helping bring MOSI’s exhibits to life. There are a wide range of fun and meaningful volunteer opportunities in this category.

  • Ages 15 and up

  • Applications are welcome on an ongoing basis for trainings that occur year-round

  • Fees: $50 application fee applies   


YES! Team:


YES! Team stands for Youth Enriched by S.T.E.A.M. This is a dynamic youth career ladder program focused on preparing youth for college and beyond through service and self-improvement opportunities.

  • Ages 13-17

  • Applications are welcome on an ongoing basis for training that occurs only once a year

  • Fees: Waived for YES! Team volunteers



Corporate Groups & Group Volunteers:


Offering employees time off to volunteer is a sincere, teambuilding way to fulfill company values and employee expectations, plus it manifests a company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. We will work with your company to provide the best fit for your needs.

  • Fees: Waived for groups


Internship Opportunities:


Looking for a learning experience to master skills, improve understanding, and gain that experience future employers will expect? Then do have something for you!

Work with and learn from industry experts with decades of experience in a dynamic, exciting, and friendly environment.

  • Ages 18 and up only may apply

  • Internships for credit must be coordinated with and approved by internship coordinators at applicant’s post-secondary institution.

  • All internship experiences are unpaid unless otherwise arranged
