MOSI: Agents of S.T.E.A.M.
May 30–June 2 • No Camp on Monday, May 29
Recruits, we are looking for a few good people interested in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Thwart those who would use this knowledge for their own vile purposes in order to take over the world. Understand how to crack codes and solve puzzles using the principles of STEAM. Build structures and use computers to design defensive systems to protect the earth. Future agents, you will live in the shadows and hide in the darkness in order to have level 1 clearance. Are you up to it?

Rocket Science
June 5–9
Start the week building and launching model rockets, then use your skills to create a one-of-a-kind rocket of your own design. Gain knowledge of the physics of propulsion and flight. Experiment with different types of re-entry and capture systems like parachutes and nets. Test out the chemistry of fireworks to discover the formulas behind their colors. Travel to Kennedy Space Center with MOSI’s Space & Flight team (to allow for travel time for the field trip, Friday’s hours are 8 a.m.–7 p.m.)

MOSI Mythbusters
June 12–16
Bust modern urban myths and popular beliefs using electrifying hands-on experiments and wild inventions. Can you sneak past motion detectors? Can air cause your stomach to explode? Is milk or water better to treat a mouth full of hot peppers? Get to the truth behind the myths you choose with explosive, yet safe results. It’s no myth that this camp is awesome.

Inventive Chemistry
June 19–23
Wield the power of chemistry to create amazing formulas and products from soap to fireworks. Use the creative side of chemistry to create colorful dyes and Japanese folding paper. Turn to the useful side of chemistry to put out fires and analyze the nutrition of food. Experiment with the science behind Pop Rocks and other candies to bust up some myths in the lab.

Theme Park Designers
June 26–30
Ride the “scream machine” of physics fun! Build marble roller coasters and test out new designs with special computer simulations. Discover how to create different roller coaster stunts that can make you feel weightless or like you’re going to lose your lunch. On Friday, experience physics the best way possible by riding and testing the roller coasters at Busch Gardens.

Jr. Iron Chef
July 3–7 • No Camp on Tuesday, July 4th
Bring your appetite and taste buds to the most delicious science camp ever! Apply microbiology and chemistry to discovering ways to improve the taste, nutrition, and look of foods such as yogurt, cheese, desserts, and snack munchies. Create candies and new varieties of chocolate treats in the lab. Enter a cooking competition where your knowledge of science as well as your master chef skills will win you the title of Iron Chef!

The Battle of Hogwarts
July 10–14
Celebrate the climactic end of the Harry Potter series through a live action role playing extravaganza. Learn the various skills of wizardry at Hogwarts. Learn stage swordsmanship, acting, storytelling, and how to solve mysterious puzzles. Create the art of illusion with potions you concoct and learn to create costumes and work with theatrical makeup. Play in a Quidditch tournament for added fun. Let’s band together for a week of exciting adventures!

Space Academy
July 17–21
Includes one overnight
Can you handle the excitement and challenge of astronaut training camp? Work together with teammates to create a robotic planetary rover. Conduct space and astrophysics experiments to prepare you for life in space. Train to successfully complete a mission. On Thursday, we’ll search the skies for planets, galaxies, and nebulae with powerful telescopes while we construct a giant-sized space station overnight at MOSI. MOSI provides meals from dinner on Thursday through lunch on Friday.

Crime Lab Detectives
July 24–28
Use your keen eye and love for mysteries to search evidence for clues. Practice crime scene techniques. Learn how to dust for fingerprints, collect hair and fiber samples, and gather other important evidence that will help you crack a variety of criminal cases each day. In the laboratory, apply science to give you a better idea of what really happened. Meet with actual criminal justice professionals in a camp that will keep you guessing.

Jr. MOSI MD
July 31–August 4
Explore several aspects of health and medical disciplines from first responders to heart surgeons. Participate in immersive, hands-on activities such as performing dissections. This camp will give you a foundation of knowledge that will be helpful toward your success in the medical profession.

Summer Science Bash
August 7–9 (3-day camp)
Summer fun is packed into this last three-day week of camp! Try out cool hands-on science experiments. Every day is full of fun, games and adventure that you think up!
