Synopsis: "BioWorks" is an engineered eco-system that emulates natural wetlands and demonstrates how the natural wetlands clean water. "BioWorks" helps MOSI to fulfill its mission of providing the public with knowledge and information about this most precious commodity of water. Its purpose is to develop or further a reverence and respect for this important natural resource. While conservation is essential, it is not enough. MOSI hopes to educate the public about water and its re-use potential.
Size: 6,400 sq. ft.
Location: Southeast of MOSI main entrance
Number of plants: @200 plants; 25-30 different species
Number of butterflies: @175; 6-9 different species
